Leslie Hi,

I'm the North Texas spoke director as of a few months ago. My story started at the HHH 3 years ago. IC3 had a tent up after the event. This is where I met Kevin Hill the spoke director at the time. He was out letting people know about the club. I gave him my email and rest is history. Over the next year Kevin kept in-touch by email. Then when I saw that IC3 was putting together a team for bike MS it was the natural thing to join and has been a blessing every since.

Find a local bike shop that already has rides going and join in with them. Set aside a day to ride and let your friends know it may be a only a few but its a start.

Its hard work but worth it. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Blessings and Merry Christmas

Todd

Todd

Thanks for your words of encouragement and your ideas.

We have a local shop that has a large range of rides for all riders.I will have to talk to the owner on getting some rides organized. They sponsor lots of events and the MSU cycling team so I feel they will be a great asset to me on this endeavor.

I have already gotten the word out to people in the area about IC3 and have had a very positive reaction to this.

A good friend of mine is the one that told me about IC3 and he is very excited about getting things going in this area.Knowing we have a spoke so close to us is very encouraging knowing we have support for this area.

After the first of the year we will work on getting people together to ride on the weekends and work on a spoke for this area.If you or any of your members are ever in this area I would to ride with them or just sit down and get some more ideas on starting a spoke

I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Les

Hi Leslie!

I'm the Kevin that Todd mentioned above.  Feel free to pick my brain for lessons learned in getting a spoke started and for what happens after that.

We are so close to each other that I'm sure some DFW folks would be happy to come up on your first group ride.

Maybe you can get the word out at local churches and set up informational meetings?  Lamar Baptist is very cyclist friendly.  I've slept in their building for HHH twice.  Roby Christie (HHH former director) was IC3 at one point as well.

My email address is [email protected] if you want to do some brainstorming.

Rubber side down…

Thanks Kevin,

It is great to know we will have support so close to us.

You both have given me some great ideas to get things rolling for us.

Lamar Baptist is a great church. We play volleyball there on friday nights on the church league.

Robie Christy would be a great asset to us.Next time I see him on the trails riding I will have to talk to him about IC3.

Our local bike shop(Texoma Cycling Center) is a big supporter of local bike groups and a great place to meet for rides.I feel they will be on board for group rides to meet there.

Thanks to you and the Dallas spoke for the support.I will definetly E-mail you for ideas on getting things started.

If you have any ideas please feel free to e-mail me @ [email protected]

I feel this is going to be a great ministry for this area.

Thanks,Les
