WOW !!! ChristianCycling had a great presence at the 2015 Tour de Donut last weekend.
We had a GREAT day with sunshine, moderate winds and good roads. To avoid road issues the Tour de Donut organizers decided to adjust the route that extended the race to 37 miles. This year’s donut stops were at 7 and 24 miles.
You do not have to eat donuts but if you do they will subtract 5 min off your clock time for ever donut eaten. This year’s winner ate 50 donuts. Let’s do the math 50 x 5 = 250 min (2hr 10min) he ended up with a negative race time. (the score the results as non-adjusted = no donuts and adjust = race time – donuts).
Here are the impressive results from everyone that participated:
Mark/Sophie Hasler 3rd place tandem division 1:52:29 (unadjusted) 19mph 0 donuts
Jon/Savanna Schmidt 2nd place tandem division 1:58:36 (unadjusted) 18.mph 9 donuts(-45min) = 1:13:36 (adjusted -5 min per donut)
Joy Elder 3rd place (w 50-59) 1:54:58 (unadjusted) 19mph 0 donuts
(age group = 3rd of 94 and 16th of 338 women overall)
Blake Elder 4th place (under 16) 1:58:58 (unadjusted) 18mph 0 donuts
(age group = 4th of 35 and 132nd of 804 men overall)
Bill Menchak 5th place (m 60-69) 1:43:03 (unadjusted) 21mph 0 donuts
(age group = 5th of 103 and 54 of 804 men overall)
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE !!
